I grew up in the Midwest where the summers are still hot, but the winters are especially cold. When I realized that wearing glasses from the age of five was not going to help my cause in becoming a military pilot, I decided that with my love of science, taking care of poor eyesight might be just as interesting. Attending Indiana University for undergraduate work allowed me the opportunity to streamline my education and graduate a year early from the I.U. School of Optometry in 1988. When I arrived in Raleigh later that year, all alone but with a fresh new career, I knew even then that this city was going to be a great place to live and work. The culture is great, the sports are great, and the weather is great too.
Over the past 33 years of practice, I have thoroughly enjoyed interacting with patients of all walks of life and experiences. This diversity has confirmed to me the importance of such golden rules as “Do unto others, as you would have done…”, “You get what you pay for…”, and “Never judge a book by its cover…”. My two teenagers keep me on my toes, ever refining my levels of patience and savvy, which ultimately strengthens my abilities to interact with patients of all ages. I combine the ever expanding scope of technology with tried and true products and services that have withstood the test of time; I temper that with the knowledge from experience and my love of helping people, for the delivery of exceptional eye care. If there was no “Art” to the practice of Optometry, then any old auto-refractor would do. I welcome you to come in and experience my passion for quality patient care. This past year has really tested the level of resolve that is in each of us, and I really feel that my staff and I have met these challenges head on as we continued to provide our family of patients with the best eye care available in the Raleigh area.
